Cheniere, Hilcorp among Houston's best workplaces
Cheniere Energy was ranked the third best workplace among midsized companies on the Houston Chronicle’s annual “Top Workplaces” list, the newspaper revealed Nov. 9.
Cheniere, which operates the massive Sabine Pass LNG export terminal, has 300 employees in Houston. Workers ranked Cheniere highly because of the company’s benefits, like stock-based awards and a flexible work environment.
Just behind Cheniere at No. 5 was Hilcorp, a private oil and gas exploration company with 429 employees in Houston, whose workers also praised their workplace for giving them a sense of ownership in the company.
The Chronicle asked more than 78,000 employees across Houston to rate their workplaces according to categories like opportunities for advancement, pay and benefits and the quality of their bosses.
The list also ranked large companies, with 500 employees or more, and small companies, with fewer than 150 employees. View all of the honored workplaces at Chron.com.
