Warwick Partners purchases 7,300 Eagle Ford acres

Oklahoma City-based Warwick Partners II LLC has purchased R/C Sugarkane LLC, a privately held oil and gas company with 7,300 acres in the Eagle Ford Shale.

The purchase includes the acreage in the liquids-producing “window” of the shale as well as gathering and other midstream infrastructure.

Warwick Partners is an affiliate of the oil and gas company Warwick Energy Group. It is acquiring R/C Sugarkane from Riverstone Holdings LLC.

The transaction will be funded by an ArcLight Capital Partners-led consortium of equity investors, including Prudential Capital Group, Kramlich Investment Company, Serengeti Asset Management, the Freeman Group and Kyle Bass with Hayman Partners.

R/C Sugarkane is producing about 1,200 barrels per day of oil equivalent in Live Oak, Atascosa and Karnes counties.

“The Eagle Ford Shale is a world class, liquids-rich resource play and through this acquisition we have acquired a multi-year drilling inventory that is both substantially de-risked and held by production,” said Katherine Richard, CEO of Warwick, in a press release. “There has been extensive drilling and production on our acreage, and we are exceedingly encouraged by the downspacing results and optimizations being achieved by our operators, ConocoPhillips, Marathon and BHP Billiton.”

Warwick Energy Group own interests in more than 5,000 wells in 13 states.
