Eagle Ford: Enterprise opens crude-gathering system

Houston-based Enterprise Products Partners LP said the first phase of its crude-oil gathering system for Eagle Ford Shale producers is complete.

The pipeline begins in Wilson County, which is southeast of San Antonio, and extends 147 miles to Sealy, which is 50 miles west of Houston. The pipeline has a capacity of 350,000 barrels a day and gives oil producers in the Eagle Ford Shale improved access to Gulf Coast refineries.

The pipeline has secured long-term commitments from shippers, Enterprise executive vice president A.J. Teague said in a statement.

The gathering system links to Enterprise’s Rancho pipeline at Sealy that extends to the Gulf Coast, and also will reach an Enterprise storage facility under construction in southeast Houston.
