Pearland-based Pauluhn acquired * update

Cooper Industries, the electric products and tools giant with a number of Houston-area shops, paid $35 million for Pearland-based Pauluhn Electric — a provider of specialized marine, offshore and industrial lighting. Federal Signal Corp. was the seller.
“The acquisition of Pauluhn Electric complements our global-leading Cooper Crouse-Hinds’ harsh and hazardous product offering and enables us to continue to provide our customers with increasingly comprehensive, highly-specified solutions that enhance safety and productivity in demanding environments around the world,” said Cooper Industries Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Kirk S. Hachigian in a statement.
In other words they can keep selling equipment used in really tough locations, like offshore rigs and work boats.
Yes, it’s a small transaction, but I kind of wondered about the name Pauluhn. The company Web site offers little except that it was “founded in 1924.” Any other insight on the name would be of interest.
