OTC: The numbers are in…

The official head-count for the 2009 Offshore Technology Conference is 66,820, off from last year’s 73,000 but “strong despite a global economic recession and intial concerns about swine flu,” organizers said in a statement.
The exhibition was the second largest in the event’s 40 year history in terms of exhibition space, with 557,000 square feet of space filled by 2,500 companies from 38 countries. And this despite a number of large outdoor tents having to be closed and their exhibits moved to Reliant Arena when a pre-show rain storm soaked the facilities.
Next year’s show will be May 3 through 6 back here in Houston.
