HOUSTON — Charles Davidson will retire as chief executive of Noble Energy and the company’s president, David Stover, will take the top job in a year-long succession plan the Houston oil and gas producer outlined Tuesday.
Davidson has led the company since 2000 and will retire on May 1, 2015. Stover has been with Noble Energy since 2002 and has served as president and chief operating officer since 2009.
Noble Energy operates onshore in the U.S. Marcellus Shale and DJ Basin, and offshore in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico, Eastern Mediterranean and West Africa.
