Cyberattack threat growing for oil and gas industry

HOUSTON — From the oil field to the power grid, the energy industry has become a top target for cyberattackers. But many oil and gas companies have been slow to adopt cybersecurity plans and provide better protections for their information systems. To address the growing threat, cybersecurity experts and energy industry leaders are gathering this week at the American Petroleum Institute’s 8th annual Cybersecurity Conference & Expo at the Westin Houston Memorial City.
