The average price in Houston settled at $3.55 Thursday, on par with a week earlier. A year ago, the average gas price in the Houston metropolitan area was $3.89, according to AAA.

AAA Texas says retail gasoline prices declined steadily in March as oil prices crept higher on signs of continued economic recovery.
