Team Industrial Services, a fast-growing specialty industrial services company, said Monday it had completed the move of its corporate headquarters to Sugar Land.
The company’s operations support center will remain in Alvin, along with about 120 employees, said Ted Owen, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Team’s rapid growth over the past 15 years had left it short of space at the Brazoria County location, he said.
Team, founded in 1973, has grown at a compound annual rate of 20 percent since 1998, when the company moved into its Alvin location, Owen said.
Total annual revenues were $45 million 15 years ago; they now are $700 million.
“We just ran out of space,” Owen said.
About 80 employees will work at the new corporate headquarters in Sugar Land. Team has 4,000 employees worldwide, including about 3,000 in the United States.
The company performs services related to the maintenance, inspection and construction of mechanical and piping systems, including leak and valve repair, emissions control and inspections.
It works with all sorts of manufacturing processes, but Owen said about 70 percent of its customers are energy-related, including pipelines, power plants, refineries and petrochemical plants.
