Energy Center corridor grows in west Houston

The strength of the energy industry has given another developer the courage to break ground on an office building in west Houston before finding any tenants for it.

Trammell Crow Co. recently started Energy Center Three, which will be a 20-story, 546,372-square-foot tower at the southwest corner of Interstate 10 and North Eldridge Parkway.

Mac Haik recently started construction on another office tower nearby.

The Trammell Crow building, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of next year, will be part of a larger development planned on the 19-acre site.

Kirsey designed the tower, and Principal Real Estate Investors is a development partner. Wells Fargo Bank and U.S. Bank provided construction financing, and Balfour Beatty Construction is the general contractor.

Aaron Thielhorn, Kevin Schmok and Brandon Houston with Trammell Crow and Joe Wanninger with Principal Real Estate Investors will lead the development team. Leasing will be handled by Cody Armbrister and Steve Rocher with CBRE’s Houston office.
