‘Private Empire’ delivers in-depth look at ExxonMobil’s evolution

In today’s Friday Bookshelf, I discuss Private Empire: ExxonMobil and American Power by New Yorker writer Steve Coll. It also shows the evolution of Exxon’s corporate thinking on issues such as climate change, and how the company wields its influence in Washington and around the world.
