Baker Hughes has named Archana “Archie” Deskus, currently an executive at global industrial equipment company Ingersoll Rand, its new chief information officer.
The Houston-based oilfield services giant announced Wednesday that Deskus will take the role Jan. 14, after two years as vice president and chief information officer at Ireland-based Ingersoll Rand.
She follows Clif Triplett, who stepped down recently after four years as Baker Hughes’ chief information officer.
“Archie’s deep IT executive leadership experience with large corporations across different industries will allow her to enhance our operational and business capabilities,” said Baker Hughes CEO Martin Craighead. “She will bring a great track record of building and developing high performing teams and of partnering with business leaders in executing large scale transformational projects.”
Deskus also has served as chief information officer for Timex and Carrier North America. She started her career as a computer systems programmer and analyst for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.
Deskus receieved a bachelor of science degree from Boston University, in business administration and management information systems, and a masters degree in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
