Cameron wins $275 million deepwater drillship equipment contract

Oil equipment supplier Cameron has won a $275 million contract to equip an ultradeepwater drillship, the company announced on Monday in a written statement.

Cameron, a Houston-based company, will supply a complete drilling package for a 12,000 foot ultradeepwater drillship for STX Offshore & Shipbuilding, Co.

The deal is the first such complete rig package for Cameron, which hopes the project will showcase its ability to move into providing full rig packages.

“After TTS Energy’s successful completions of several full equipment packages for jackup drilling rigs, we now welcome the opportunity to provide a complete drilling equipment package for a drillship,” said Jack Moore, CEO of Cameron. “We look forward to showcasing our capabilities on this project.”
