PG&E proposes rate reductions to help businesses

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. has asked state regulators for the right to offer a more competitive rate to large companies in an effort to attract and retain large California employers, the company announced Friday.

The proposal targets certain companies with power loads of at least 200 kilowatts, who would be provided a 12 percent rate reduction for five years.

“Affordable, reliable power is more important than ever as an enabler of business and employment development in our state,” Tom Bottorff, senior vice president for regulatory relations at PG&E said in a news release…
