DALLAS — Owners of a northeast Texas farm have obtained a court order to block TransCanada from crossing the farm with a proposed pipeline planned to carry Canadian oil to refineries along the Texas Gulf coast.

Lamar County Court-at-Law Judge Bill Harris ordered TransCanada representatives and those of The Crawford Family Farm Partnership to appear before him Feb. 24 to show why Harris shouldn’t extend the order against TransCanada. However, family attorney John Pieratt of Austin says Harris has scheduled a rehearing at TransCanada’s request for Friday in Paris, Texas.

The order came in TransCanada’s condemnation lawsuit against the family partnership for right-of-way across the 600-acre farm along the Red River, about 100 miles northeast of Dallas.

No mention that TransCanada is a private company using eminent domain to condemn the property?

And why don’t the Canadians want these refining jobs?

This is OUTRAGEOUS. Our “representing” politicians should be saying “NO” to TransCanada’s attempt to use the U.S. to get their filthy pipeline to a duty-free zone. Instead, Republicans are involved in SCAMMING their constituents with misinformation and empty promises. I wholeheartedly praise and applaud the Crawford Family Fund Partnership for their integrity.

The Keystone pipeline will continue to be an issue that is the center of discussion for quite some time. What is mind boggling about the issue is that while it has a controversial component with regard to the environment, it’s even more complicated is the fact that we are willing to turn away 20,000 jobs that can also turn into other possibilities both now and in the future (http://bit.ly/sogpoX). What we need to know is what the plan is going to be for recovery if we decide to turn these 20,000 jobs down, is there a replacement of sorts? If not, we need to come up with another strategy so that we can experience some long term growth. Otherwise, we are only throwing opportunities away.

There is nothing “filthy” about any pipeline. Currently there is around 65 million miles of pipelines in the United States. Whats the problem with 2500 miles more? Because of the oil boom going on in South Texas right now, new pipelines are going in everyday. Big Whoop! Getting oil and natural gas to market via pipeline is the cheapest, cleanest way.

Anyone who can’t agree with any petroleum pipeline has their head up their own alimentary canal (pipeline).
