Schlumberger’s Gould to take top post at BG Group next year

Andrew Gould, chairman of oilfield service giant Schlumberger, will become chairman of BG Group next year, the British gas firm announced in a press release today.

He will succeed Sir Robert Wilson who is stepping down in May after serving as chairman since 2004. Gould was appointed a non-executive director of BG Group in June.

Gould retired as CEO of Schlumberger in August, but continues to serve as chairman until the company’s annual meeting in April.

BG Group is involved in LNG terminals, gas marketing, transportation, and shale projects in partnership with Exco Resources. It is a main tenant in BG Group Place, Hines’ new downtown office tower at 811 Main.
