ConocoPhillips: Management shuffle

ConocoPhillips has created a new senior management position of chief administrative officer, leading to some shuffling of executives effective today.
E.L. “Gene” Batchelder, now senior vice president of services in Phillips Petroleum’s former hometown of Bartlesville, Okla., will move to Houston to be the new CAO.
In that role, he’ll oversee strategy and such areas as human resources, facilities, information technology, security, aviation and corporate affairs, including investor relations and corporate communications.
He’ll report to James Mulva, chairman and CEO of ConocoPhillips.
Company spokeswoman Kristi DesJarlais said ConocoPhillips created the new position largely to strengthen focus on people and improve consistency of communication and further leverage processing and handling of services shared across the company.
Batchelder’s Bartlesville position will be filled by Rand Berney, now vice president and controller.
Glenda Schwarz, general auditor and chief ethics officer, is replacing Berney as controller.
Gary Russell, general manager of investor relations, will replace Schwarz as general auditor and chief ethics officer.
And Clayton Reasor, president of U.S. marketing, will become vice president of corporate affairs. His replacement as marketing president will be announced later.
