The Chronicle energy team will be spending the week at Cambridge Energy Research Associate’s annual shindig at the Galleria here in Houston, CERAWeek.
ExxonMobil’s Rex Tillerson speaks at last year’s CERAWeek. (James Nielsen, Houston Chronicle)
This is one of the more important energy conferences in the country. Why?
• Longevity: This is the 27th year.
• Research: CERA cranks out a lot of it, and since being acquired by research giant IHS it is a sister company to a whole lot of other energy research firms.
• High-profile speakers: such as Saudi Aramco CEO Abdallah Jum’ah Tuesday and former Fed. Chairman Alan Greenspan Thursday night, among many others.
We’ll be blogging some of the speakers live, providing regular updates on sessions we attend, and of course have daily stories based on some of the research that is being debuted.
Here’s a story outlining some of the major themes this year. And here’s a peak at what some economists were saying in closed sessions today.
